Well, if you’re here, you probably follow me on some form of social media, which means you haven’t been able to escape the news: I’m going to be published! Accidental Demons—my MG fantasy novel about a diabetic witch who can’t stop conjuring demons when she tests her blood sugar—was sold to Inkyard Press by my amazing agent and will be published next summer with the sequel to follow in 2025. WILD. INCREDIBLE. SURREAL.
I am so excited. And seeing complete strangers freak out about the premise has been so incredibly validating and heartwarming.
So what now? Well, this is just the official announcement, aka the moment I can finally talk publicly about this book again. There aren’t pre-order links, and probably won’t be until summer or fall, BUT! There are a few important links. Listed below from most to least important. Maybe? I dunno, they’re listed.

Add Accidental Demons on Goodreads
☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️
I have a fully outrageous goal to have 1,000 people add Accidental Demons on Goodreads by June. Unrealistic? yes. Impossible? No!
Though I’ve stopped using Goodreads personally, it’s a major industry benchmark, so by the time decisions are being made at my publisher about how much marketing budget this little diabetic witch gets (oh hey, that could be me or Ber! we’re both diabetic witches!) I want to have some hard data to show them on how excited people are for this book! Enter Goodreads want to read stats!
Storygraph is also great! I personally only use Storygraph for book tracking and reviewing these days, and you can also find (and add!!) Demons there: Add Accidental Demons on Storygraph!
If you’re not already, come hang out with me on Tiktok! I posted this Pedro Pascal meme video about hoping that folks who followed me for my viral solar system post would stick around for my cozy diabetic witch book, and the comments are SO nice 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Announcing also means I can finally share this incredible character art I commissioned from @mangomangoj when I first got the offer!
Look at this little demon!! He’s so cute, and so ANNOYING!
And then…BER! And her cats! Yes, there are THREE cats in this book. From bottom to top (eldest to youngest) they are Darjeeling (Dar), Frangipane (Frangi), and Mascarpone (Mars).
So much more to come soon. Thanks for sticking with me through the many evolutions of this newsletter, I’m certain there are more to come.
Trust your magic!!
Clare
